Sardine summer bruschetta

Our sardine bruschetta with fresh herbs, cucumber and tomatoes is the epitome of summer.

Picture baguette slices and their crusty texture complemented by a vibrant medley of spicy sardines, fragrant herbs and a zesty burst of lemon.

Servings: 8 - 10 pieces
Time: 15 - 20 minutes

Method:

1) Slice the baguette into pieces and toast the slices in a toaster or oven, if desired.

2) Open the packages of sardines and drain the oil. Place them in a bowl.

3) Finely chop the vegetables and dried and fresh onions, parsley, and basil and add them to the bowl with the sardines. Season with salt, pepper, and squeeze the lemons into the bowl. Optionally, add lemon zest for extra flavour.
Mix everything well with a spoon to create a flavourful salad.

4) Distribute the salad onto the toasted baguette slices using a spoon.

5) Sprinkle dried oregano on top, garnish with chili slices, and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil. Serve and enjoy!

Ingredients:

72H sourdough baguette

2 packs of piquant sardines

1 medium tomato

1 medium cucumber

1 small onion

2 fresh onions, tops removed

5 sprigs of parsley

4 fresh basil leaves

1 chili pepper

2 lemons

A pinch of dried oregano

Sea salt & Black pepper

Extra virgin olive oil
